I escaped from Sydney. My next destination was the Greater Blue Mountains Area, a region that is inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. There are lots of dense forests like this there, as well as many great canyon cliffs.

The name "Blue Mountains" derives from the fact that when atmospheric temperature rises (and it often does in inland Australia), the fat of eucalyptus globulus trees evaporates and disperses into the air. This causes the visible blue spectrum of sunlight to propagate more than other colors. As a result, the landscape appears bluish to human eyes.
