If you want a suggestion for where to stay in Tehran, I'd say you should try finding a block containing as many interesting spots as possible, because it's likely that you will be stuck there much of the time. Cars rush by at high velocity, mostly ignoring all traffic lights and pleading eyes of pedestrians. Street corners are used by unofficial taxis to drop off and pick up new people at a crazy pace, making the situation completely overwhelming to a non-local.

Just be prepared for that.

(Once or twice a taxi driver actually gets out of his car and walks us across the street, using his superpowers to stop all traffic.)

Hvis du lurer på hvor du bør bo i Teheran, så vil jeg nok si at det er best om du finner et kvartal som inneholder mest mulig av det du er interessert i. At du skal klare å krysse gata for å komme derfra regner jeg som helt usannsynlig. Biler raser forbi i forferdelig fart og uten hensyn til trafikklysene og fotgjengernes bedende blikk. Alle gatehjørner brukes kontinuerlig av uoffisielle drosjer til å slippe av og plukke opp passasjerer, og det hele blir veldig uoversiktlig for sånne som oss.

(Et par ganger går faktisk en drosjesjåfør ut av bilen sin, og bruker superkreftene sine til å stoppe all trafikk og få oss trygt over gata.)
