Hobart har de tøffeste søppeltømmingsbilene jeg har sett. Sjåføren bare kjører fra hus til hus, og så spretter det frem en robotarm som griper tak i søppelkassene og kaster dem inn i gapet oppå bilen. Bilen sier "Nom-nom-nom!", og så kjører bilen videre. Ufattelig effektivt.

Det funker nok sånn fordi i Australia er det uendelig mye plass. Dermed kan folk parkere bilene sine andre steder enn langs veien, og dermed går det greit å få fri tilgang til søppelkassene.

Hobart has the coolest garbage trucks! There's a driver whose only job is to drive from one garbage container to the next. When they get there a robo-arm comes out and empties the container into an opening on top of the truck. The car goes "Nom-nom-nom!", and then they drive off to the next meal.

I guess this can work in Australia because there's infinite space there, even in the cities. This lets people park their cars elsewhere than on the road. This gives easy access from the road to the garbage.
