I've been inside a few now, and never has the interior of any of them come anywhere close to pleasing me as much as the outside does. If you want to save the entrance fee, you can safely do so without missing out on much. Heddal is a bit better than other similar churches, in that the entrance fee also gives you access to an open-air museum within walking distance, where you can see more old buildings.
